Seeing that picture reminded me immediately of that big tree in Sabapathy uncle's backyard. We used to wake up early, early in the morning to go and pick up the best ones that had fallen on the ground during the night. The blacker they are, the more delicious. We also had one in our backyard at 1A Coromandel park but it was never as good as Sabapathy uncle's:-). I wonder how Uma Sabapathy is doing and hope she sees this; unlikely though :-)!!
Absolutely. I fondly remember the colony blackberry trees that you mention ! This is a remarkable fruit -- so shiny to look at, the deep purple of the inside and sensuous texture and heavenly taste when its optimally ripe.
