We're back ...

Or rather:

We're baaaaaaccccckkkkk !!!
======

Okay now lets see some action around here. I've missed blogging :-)

We returned today, a tiring trip with stopover at Doha and then a painful terminal change at Mumbai for Bangalore.

Let me start by touching on three of the highlights which I have the best feelings about:

We spent the first day of the trip in Rome. Being the first day it would have been great anyway, and to add, Rome was gorgeous and the weather was lovely. There were so many trees and beautiful flowers, the river Tiber, fantastic old buildings. We spent some time at the Trevi fountain (photo above) and then on a bus tour of Rome ending with a brief stopover at the Coliseum. We didn't spend enough time at the Coliseum to get an idea why its such a famous building, but we did see something interesting -- its got three types of architecture in the columns (pillars) of the three different levels -- corinthian, doric and ionic. They are rarely found all together.

In Switzerland we spent half a day deep in the snow on Mt. Titlis. A cable car takes you high up into the snow, and then another amazing open chair takes you to a spot deep in the snow where you're surrounded by the immensity of the mountains. Spectacular.

I spent one afternoon in Paris by myself, just walking along the river Seine, from the Chatelet metro station to the Eiffel Tower, a good 4 or 5 kilometres. Happiness.

And a parting shot: moi et mon ami Albert --
